BLOG GIVEAWAY!!!

MY FIRST BLOG GIVEAWAY!!! I love the humor of Amy Sedaris. Some may find her comedy a bit rough around the edges but I think she's hilarious. When her latest book, Simple Times- crafts for poor people, hit the stands I raced to Barnes and Noble in hopes of owning a copy. Little did I know, this was to become a Christmas gift from one of my friends. So here it is, my abundance is now a possible gift for one of you!!!!!! Whoever posts an idea (I will pick the one I like the best) for a new craft that I may be able to utilize in a therapeutic setting for the geriatric population will receive this book in the mail. Winners will be picked on my birthday, March 26!!!!

  1. they probably complain about being cold a lot, don't they? i think your elder patients could use knit caps, to help retain body heat (at least the men). or maybe stylish gloves with the fingertips cut off, like back in the '20s and '30s? [i'm only being half-serious, you know...]

  2. You were talking about the elderly men needing something to do. I have lots of ideas, but even golfing on the Wii would be enjoyable (or bowling) for them to participate without much effort or endurance needed. Also I was thinking that instead of building mainstream things such as birdhouses you could get them doing different kinds of leather work. It is really easy to do and even cheaper because you can find most of the materials in old stores (a lot of places will donate too). I was at Broughton for one of my rotations and this really interested a lot of the men because they would make things for their grandchildren. I have many ideas, so if you want more just ask ask ask. PS I REALLY REALLY WANT THIS BOOK.

  3. Also is there any way that you could bring me a list of all of the craft books that you have to class? I know that is asking a lot but I am really into crafts and would love a list.
